Someone quoted a verse today in such a way that I saw that verse in a completely new light. When I read about the peace of God which surpasses all understanding, I think of feeling an emotion that is given by God. And I’ve often wondered why I have never felt that emotion before. But not having to understand everything that is happening around us – accepting that God is in control and knows our future and our past is peace in itself. Just like Job found peace when He heard God speak to him through the storm. He didn’t get the answers he was looking for, but he came to realise that even though he couldn’t understand why bad things were happening to him, God did. And God was there, right by his side.
A beautiful peace to be in.
And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. – Ephesians 4.7
